Well, I’d say its quite likely everyone’s stupidity does know bounds but some people just get skilled at glitching their way to get out of bounds. It certainly happened to me a couple of times.

interesting pattern i’ve noticed when structuring paragraphs. sometimes continuing a line of thinking into a second paragraph will actually result in three paragraphs.

e.g. i might have one big paragraph which touches on ideas A and B, and this feels ok, but then i realize i have more to say about B, but extending it further would make the paragraph too long, so i insert a new paragraph

so we briefly have (A + B1) (B2). but when i see this pattern, i split the first paragraph, even though it was fine before

something about an extended discussion starting in the middle of a different paragraph bugs me.

and then at the end of it all, they ask for recommendations for anything that avoids doing the thing they hate.

almost as a rule, i ignore and refuse to answer these posters. why would i bother? especially when the things they complain about are barely articulated and subjective, the only information i’m given is that there are wrong answers here‍ ‍‍—‍ answers wrong enough to inspire a rant! so even if there’s something i’d like to strongly recommend, how can i be sure it’s not guilty of the same crimes of annoyance?

if there’s a mistake prevalent enough to be tendency, then people aren’t going to be as good at discerning it as the sensitive. and if one complains louder than one praises, i just don’t find the prospect of giving a recommendation very rewarding

much as it would please me to be referenced, i don’t think it’s strange at all. “hostile takeover” is an established term. and it’s so commonly used that, for example, trying to search for mention of the fic on twitter or any other site is a hopeless endeavor. in fact, it’s so natural a choice that the fic now known as “executive dismissal” was originally called hostile takeover before my friends noticed and we let the author know it’d be confusing.

the odds of it being a reference (or even just that someone at glitch is aware of my fic) is not zero, and objectively this post is (very slight) evidence for it. but it’s circumstantial evidence, so i wouldn’t bet on this not being a coincidence
